Privacy Policy — Nombrelia
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This policy describes how data is processed in the “Nombrelia” mobile app for iOS and Android (identifier com.opharana.nombrelia) and on the pages of this website that open from its links: the pair invitation, the family vote and the recommendation (hereinafter, together, “Nombrelia”). The data controller is OPHARANA LLC, with its registered address at 99 Wall Street, Suite 1432, 10005, New York (United States), and contact email hello@opharana.com.
1. Summary
- No sign-up. We do not ask for your email address, phone number or password. When you open the app, or the link to an invitation or a vote in your browser, an anonymous account is created, which is nothing more than a random identifier.
- We only store what Nombrelia needs: the name you use in the pair, the baby’s last name if you enter it, your filters, your votes, your shared list with its finalists and, if you open it, the family vote.
- Your votes are secret. Your partner cannot see which names you said yes or no to: they only see your matches, the names you have both said yes to.
- We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for purposes other than those described here, and we do not send marketing emails. There are no push notifications either: the daily reminder is scheduled by your own phone.
- The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which processes your device’s advertising identifier. In the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before loading any ad. It also shows in-house ads from TuIAgencia, the owner’s agency, which do not use personal data.
- Payments for Nombrelia Plus are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
- You can delete your data whenever you want from the app, in Settings → “Delete my data” (section 8).
2. Data we process
2.1. Anonymous account
When you open the app, or open the link to an invitation or a vote in your browser, an anonymous account is created with our database provider, Supabase. It consists of a random identifier and the session data that allows us to recognize you when you come back. It does not contain your name, your email address or your phone number.
That account is tied to the app installation or to the browser in which you opened the link: if you delete the app or your browser data, or switch phones, you lose access to it, and we cannot recover it because we do not know who you are. To protect the service, Supabase logs the IP address and technical connection data (date, time and type of device or browser).
2.2. The pair
- Your name in the pair: the one you enter when you create or join it. Your partner sees it, and it appears next to theirs in the family vote (for example, “Ana & Luis”). The name of the person who creates the pair also appears on the invitation page, which anyone who has its link or code can see.
- The baby’s last name, if you enter it (it is optional), so you can see how each name sounds in full. You both see it, and so do the relatives who have the link to the vote.
- Your filters: girl, boy or both, the countries of the lists, origin, length and first letter. They are shared: either of you can change them and they apply to both of you.
- The pair and vote codes, and a random number that makes you both see the names in the same order.
The app uses your phone’s region and language to suggest the countries for the lists. That check is done on the phone itself: only the filters you save reach our server. Your full name is not needed: the first name or nickname your partner knows you by is enough.
2.3. Your votes and your shared list
- Your votes: which names you say yes to and which you say no to, with the date. The names, their meanings and their statistics are built into the app; when you swipe, the only thing sent is your vote.
- Your shared list: your matches (the names you have both said yes to), their order, which ones are finalists (up to 5), when you matched on each one and when each of you last looked at the list, so that we can let you know about new matches.
Who sees what: only you see your votes. Your partner only sees your matches, never the names you have said no to or the ones you like but your partner does not. Your votes are only used to find your matches.
2.4. The family vote
If you open it, we create a code that is different from the pair code and cannot be used to join the pair. Anyone who has its link (nombrelia.com/v/ followed by the code) can see your names, the baby’s last name, the finalists and how many votes each one has.
Each relative who votes types who they are (free text of up to 40 characters, for example “Grandma Carmen”) and picks a finalist. We store that text, their vote, the date and their anonymous account. The couple sees who voted for what; the other relatives only see the count. If the couple removes a name from the finalists, the votes it had are deleted.
2.5. Plus for both of you and the recommendation reward
If you buy Nombrelia Plus, the store, through RevenueCat, notifies our server of every purchase, renewal, cancellation or refund, so that your Plus also works for your partner. We only store the date until which you have Plus, never the purchase details.
To apply the promotion of a month of Plus for recommending Nombrelia (details in the Terms), we store your recommendation code, which account recommended the app to you (the owner of the code you used), whether the reward has already been given, how many months you have earned and until what date you have Plus for free. We do not store any contact details of yours or of the couples you recommend the app to.
2.6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner, a full-screen ad when you finish a round of names (never while you are swiping) and, only if you choose to, a rewarded video to get an extra round. Google may process, among other things: the device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), device data, approximate location derived from the IP address, interactions with ads and diagnostic data from its SDK. This processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and its information on how Google uses information from partner sites and apps. We do not pass your names, your votes, the baby’s last name or your list on to advertisers.
The app also shows in-house ads from TuIAgencia, the owner’s services agency. These ads are part of the app, do not use the advertising identifier or any personal data and do not profile you. If you tap one, the tuiagencia.com website opens in your browser. The pages of this website show no advertising.
2.7. In-app purchases (Nombrelia Plus)
The app offers Nombrelia Plus, which removes the ads and adds unlimited rounds of names, all the filters and the family vote, in two ways: a monthly subscription, which renews automatically and which you can cancel at any time, or a one-time lifetime payment. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on your platform, under their own privacy policies.
We do not receive or store your card, bank account or billing details, or your postal address: the store only confirms to us that a purchase has been completed. To validate the purchase and allow it to be restored, we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and the store receipt, without your name or email address.
Refunds and payment claims are handled through Apple or Google, not through us.
2.8. The daily reminder
If you turn it on, the app reminds you once a day, at the time you choose, that your new round is ready. It is a local notification: it is scheduled by your own phone, without going through our servers. We do not use push notifications or store any notification identifier. You can turn it off in Settings → “Daily reminder”.
2.9. The link pages in your browser
If you open the link to an invitation (nombrelia.com/p/) or a vote (nombrelia.com/v/) in your browser, the page creates your anonymous account and stores the session data in your browser’s storage (local storage, under the key nombrelia.sesion) to recognize you when you come back. On the vote page it also stores, under the key nombrelia.quien, what you type in “Who are you?”, so that you do not have to type it again. Neither of them is used to track you or for anything else. What you type goes directly from your browser to Supabase over an encrypted connection. The invitation page only looks up who is inviting you: to join the pair, you need to use the app.
The recommendation page (nombrelia.com/r/) does not connect to our server or store anything in your browser.
2.10. When you write to us
If you write to us at hello@opharana.com, we process your email address and whatever you tell us, solely to handle your inquiry, your issue or the exercise of your rights.

4. Advertising and your consent
- EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before loading any Google ad, the app shows Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform, UMP). You can accept personalized advertising or decline it; in that case, non-personalized ads are shown.
- iOS: in addition, the system shows Apple’s tracking prompt (App Tracking Transparency). If you do not allow it, the IDFA is not used and ads are not personalized.
- Changing your mind: in the app, in Settings → “Ad privacy”; on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Google → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
- Removing ads: while you or your partner have Nombrelia Plus, including the months earned by recommending the app, the app does not load any advertising.
5. Data recipients
| Provider | Role | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Apple / Google Play | App distribution and purchase processing | apple.com/legal/privacy · policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google (AdMob / UMP) | Advertising and consent management | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Anonymous accounts and the database of pairs, votes and family votes | supabase.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Purchase validation and restoration | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Expo | App updates: when you open the app, it checks whether there is a new version, and Expo receives the IP address and an installation identifier | expo.dev/privacy |
| Vercel | Hosting of this website | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
We do not sell your data or share it with any third parties other than those listed.
6. International transfers
The data controller is established in the United States, and the providers listed above may also process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), mainly in the United States. These transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and/or on adequacy decisions (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
7. Retention
Your anonymous account and your data are kept for as long as you use Nombrelia. Your votes and your shared list are kept until either of you leaves the pair or deletes their data. The pair, with the baby’s last name, the filters and its codes, is deleted when the last person leaves. Family votes are deleted when the couple removes that name from the finalists or when either of you leaves the pair. Emails you send us are kept for as long as it takes to handle your inquiry and, afterwards, for as long as necessary to show that we handled it. Data processed by Google for advertising purposes and by RevenueCat for purchases is kept according to the periods published by each provider.
8. How to delete your data
From the app: go to Settings and tap “Delete my data”; we will ask you to confirm. The following are deleted immediately and permanently:
- your votes;
- your shared list, with its finalists, and the votes in your family vote (without you there are no matches, so they also disappear for your partner);
- your name in the pair: your partner stays in it, but without a shared list, and if no one is left, the whole pair is deleted, with the baby’s last name, the filters and its codes;
- your Plus data on our server and your data for the recommendation promotion. Months of Plus earned by recommending the app are lost; Plus bought in the store is not, and you can get it back with “Restore purchases”. For that purpose, RevenueCat keeps the purchase receipt with the anonymous identifier; if you want it deleted, write to us at hello@opharana.com.
Leaving the pair (Settings → “Unpair”) deletes your votes and your shared list, but keeps your account, your Plus and your rewards, so that you can create another pair or join a different one.
After you delete your data, the identifier of your anonymous account may remain in the system, but with no data linked to it.
If you voted from the browser in a family’s vote, write to us at hello@opharana.com with the link to the vote and what you typed in “Who are you?”, and we will delete your vote. Clearing your browser data removes the session and the name stored in it, but not your vote.
Deleting your data does not cancel a Nombrelia Plus subscription: that is managed from your Apple or Google account (details in the Terms).
9. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, data portability and withdrawal of consent by writing to hello@opharana.com. We will reply within one month. Since we do not ask you for any contact details, to locate your data we will ask you for the pair code and the name you use in it or, if you voted on the web, the link to the vote and what you typed in “Who are you?”.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), at aepd.es.
10. Minors
Nombrelia is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. We do not verify age. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a minor is using the app, you can prevent its use with the device’s parental controls (Screen Time on iOS, Family Link or the Google Play controls on Android) or write to us at hello@opharana.com.
11. Security
Communications between the app and the web pages and the services listed are encrypted (TLS). The database cannot be read directly: the app and the website can only use functions that check your session on every call and return only what you are allowed to see. The session is stored in the app’s private space on your device or, on the web, in your browser’s local storage.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version at this same URL (https://nombrelia.com/en/privacidad) and update the date at the top. Substantial changes will be flagged in the app or on the store listings.
13. Language
This policy is published in several languages to make it easier to read. In the event of any discrepancy between versions, the Spanish version prevails.
